Currently, Women's March Cleveland has the largest march in the country for Oct 8 on FACEBOOK, according to Facebook event pages for the events, including the march that day set for Washington D.C. by Women's March National.
Abortion access and voting and Civil Rights are the primary focus of the event, as are rape, murder and violence against women in general, not to mention racism, sexism, education, jobs, climate change, immigration and police reform, and equal pay. And since Oct 8 marks 30 days until Election Day, and we’re more fired up than ever to elect more women and pro-choice candidates around the country — we’re ready for the Women’s Wave! Also at issue is the fight for women in Iran and other parts of the world who are fighting for freedom and equity across the board.
Community activist groups endorsing Women's March Cleveland's aforementioned Oct 8 event include International Women's Day March Cleveland, Imperial Women Coalition, Carl Stokes Brigade, Brickhouse Wellness Center, March For Our Lives, Laura Cowan Foundation, Black Women's PAC of Ohio and Greater Cleveland, National Congress of Black Women of Greater Cleveland, Standup4AbortionRights, Sista to Sista, Justice For Britney Hardwick, members of the Cuyahoga Democratic Women's Caucus the Poor People's Campaign, and more.
