CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland women gathered on the steps of City Hall on Friday to mark International Women’s Day, a global initiative that celebrates women’s influence on culture, politics and economics, and demands gender equity.
“This is 2019, and women are still not experiencing the same equality as her counterpart, the male,” said Fannie Timko, a member of the Cuyahoga County chapter of the National Council of Negro Women. “And we have to speak out about all injustices for all women.”Check out these scenes from the march, and more about what International Women’s Day means for women today.
