The Humane Society of Summit County, which neighbors Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, said the new owners felt he was not a perfect match.
Meanwhile, Geronimo, an American Staffordshire terrier, pit bull terrier and mastiff mix rescued by the Humane Society in December 2015, is becoming a news sensation and has been featured on local television stations in the Cleveland area and in newspapers and online.
According to the Humane Society, each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats). Approximately 2.7 million shelter animals are adopted each year(1.4 million dogs and 1.3 million cats). About 649,000 animals who enter shelters as strays are returned to their owners
