Funeral for Cleveland Judge George Trumbo is Saturday, Trumbo was the husband of retired Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals judge Sara Harper, and a brother-in-law of the late Call and Post Newspaper editor Connie Harper

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Former longtime Cleveland Municipal Court judge George W. Trumbo (pictured), the 64-year husband of retired Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals judge Sara J. Harper and a brother-in-law of the late Call and Post associate editor and publisher Connie Harper, died on Thursday, Nov 20 after a long-term illness. He was 88.

Funeral services are entrusted to E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home(www.efboyd.com) with a wake on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 9 am, followed by funeral services at 10 am, both at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church at 3290 East 126th Street in Cleveland.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the death of my father Judge George W. Trumbo, " said Adam Trumbo, the youngest of five grown children of Judge Trumbo and Judge Harper. "My father was a fair and just jurist."

Masonic services are Friday, Nov 28 at 5 pm, followed by a Kappa Alpha Psi salute at 6 pm, both programs to be held at E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home, 2165 East 89th Street in Cleveland.

"My mother Judge Sara J. Harper, the entire Harper-Trumbo family and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospitals for the care and concern that they showed my father and our family during this most difficult time," the younger Trumbo said.

The Honorable Trumbo, of Cleveland, earned a bachelor's degree from the Ohio State University and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Masonic Temple and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

In addition to his beloved wife and son Adam Trumbo, Judge Trumbo is also survived by four other grown children with Judge Sara Harper. They are Constance Trumbo Haqq, James William Trumbo, Kimberlee Joy Trumbo, and Karen Monique Trumbo.

He also leaves to cherish his memory grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives, close friends and associates.
