Activists, victims families of rape, murder, excessive force by Cleveland police to rally July 9, 5 pm, the Chateau, 13124 Euclid Ave., NAACP President Rev Smith to meet with groups there at 5:30 pm, Judge Harper to chair July 10 n-word meeting there

CLEVELAND, Ohio-Grassroots groups, including Imperial Women, the Fairfax Business Association, the Carl Stokes Brigade, Ohio Family Rights, Black on Black Crime and the Oppressed People's nation, will rally at 5 pm on July 9, 2013 at the Chateau at 13124 Euclid Ave. along with activists and families members of victims of fatal excessive force by Cleveland police and the families of women raped and murdered in greater Cleveland  At 5:30 pm the groups will meet there with Cleveland NAACP President Hilton Smith, Cleveland NAACP Executive Director Sheila Wright and Cleveland NAACP Legal Redress Committee Chair Una H.R. Keenon. Other dignitaries to attend the meeting include East Cleveland City Council members Nate Martin and Barbara Thomas, and Cleveland Ward 6 Councilwoman Mamie Mitchell.(Activists said that East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton and East Cleveland City Council President Joy Jordan, among other Blacks and other elected officials, are invited to hear community concerns. Community Activist Art McKoy and Imperial Women will lead the 5 pm rally in cooperation with the mothers of unarmed people gunned down by Cleveland Police, including the mothers of Kenneth Smith and Daniel Ficker, both fatally shot by Cleveland police, and the aunt of Malissa Williams, who was gunned down late last year with her friend Tim Russell by a group of White Cleveland police officers with 137 bullets following a car chase that began in downtown Cleveland and ended in neighboring East Cleveland. The daughters of Christine Malone, who was raped and murdered in March on Cleveland 's majority Black east side with her assailant still at large, will also lead the rally to call for more resources to find the rapist and killers of Black and other greater Cleveland women.

In addition to the aforementioned, the meeting with Rev Smith, who took the helm as Cleveland NAACP president  last year, will address legal system inequities, foreclosure impropriety, jobs for Black people, and education.

Activists said also that they will pray for justice for Trayvon Martin at the rally and for a speedy recovery for South African President Nelson Mandela.

Other activists groups participating include the Cleveland Chapter of the New Black Panther Party, Stop Targeting Ohio's Poor, the National Association for Parental Equality, the Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network, the People's Forum, People for the Imperial Act and the Cleveland Black Contractors Association.

On July 10 at 5:30 pm, also at the Chateau, retired Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals judge Sara Harper, the third vice president of the Cleveland NAACP, will chair a closed meeting on the aforementioned issues and on White employees of the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's offices doing Internet polls on Black people branded "niggers," coupled with demanding that Blacks like former CMHA Director George Phillips Oliver are hanged from trees with nooses, and to "hang them high." The same employees are accused of using their clout to harass Blacks that complain, including malicious prosecutions, defamation on the Internet, and false and vicious emails distributed widespread on company time.
