CLEVELANDURBANNEWS.COM-CLEVELAND, Ohio-Following the storming of the U.S. Capitol Wednesday by Trump protesters, Twitter has suspended President Donald Trump's Twitter account until 2023, allegedly because he violated Twitter rules and inciting violence.

Also, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the social media giant was banning Trump indefinitely and for some but not all of the reasons Twitter wants him gone from its social media website, and mainly for inciting violence

The president's Twitter account, before it was deleted on Friday, had approximately 79.5 million followers, though  former president Barack Obama has the most followers at over 127 million, followed by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said. "In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action."
At issue are two tweets posted by the president on Friday afternoon, the first of which reads as  follows:
"The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!"
The second tweet is where the president announces that he will skip Democratic President-elect Joe Biden's Jan, 20 inauguration, Biden unseating Trump via the November presidential election where he won both the electoral college and the popular vote.
Twitter said the tweets glorify violence and come behind the insurrection the president is accused of inciting at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday that left four protesters and a police officer dead, and that temporarily halted efforts by Congress to certify Biden's  electoral college win .
The president has repeatedly said that Twitter and other social media platforms  such as Facebook are an important way for him to speak to followers and bypass mainstream media, which he routinely refers to as "fake news."
He said Friday that Twitter cannot silence him by arbitrarily suspending his Twitter account.

"We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!" Trump said.
