CLEVELAND, Ohio-The 13 delegates for Obama to this year's Democratic National Convention from Ohio's predominantly Black 11th Congressional District, which is led by Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (D-11), are majority female and all Black, and they will add more color and diversity to Ohio's majority White and largely male convention delegation of its now 18 congressional districts. And the president was in town on Wed., landing  by plane in Cleveland at its international airport to holler at Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and other supporters before heading to an afternoon speech at Lorain County Community College.

CLEVELAND, Ohio- U.S. Rep. Marcia L. Fudge and the Cleveland Chapter of the NAACP announced a call for the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the Sandford, FL. police department and its chief of police surrounding the murder of slain teenager Travon Martin and the failure of law enforcement authorities to initially charge volunteer neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman at a rally and remembrance program for Martin held Sun afternoon at Second New Hope Baptist Church in Cleveland that drew over 500 people.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Washington, D.C. press secretary for U.S. Rep. Marcia L. Fudge (D-OH), a Warrensville Hts Democrat whose 11th Congressional District includes Cleveland's predominantly Black east side and Black pockets of Akron, a city some 35 miles south of Cleveland, has left her post to serve as an Ohio regional campaign press spokesperson for Obama for America, President Barack Obama's reelection campaign venue.

Laura Allen (pictured) told Cleveland Urban News.Com in a telephone interview yesterday from Washington, D.C. that she will begin working for the Obama campaign beginning next week and that Fudge has not found a replacement for her yet, and she said that she does not know what regional post she will be assigned to but that she has, in fact, joined the Obama 2012 campaign.

"I start next week," said Allen, who said also that she would be relocating to Columbus, Oh. this weekend.

CLEVELAND, Ohio-In the wake of the announcement yesterday by a special prosecutor that volunteer neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman will be charged with second degree murder in the killing of unarmed seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin (pictured) the Vision of Angels Youth Dance Troop, the Imperial Women Coalition, community activists, the Imperial Women Coalition, clergy, youth, elected officials, the United Pastor's in Mission and Cleveland NAACP and SCLC  officials will go forward with a mass rally for Martin scheduled for Sun. April 15 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Second New Hope Baptist Church in Cleveland, 2917 E. 116th St at Buckeye Ave .
