CLEVELAND, Ohio-Former Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Tim McGinty, also a former assistant county prosecutor, is a candidate for county prosecutor in the Democratic Primary whom community activists are calling the Black community's greatest nightmare and a detriment to the Democratic process (Editor's note: McGinty resigned as the first judge presiding over the Anthony Sowell Serial Killer Capital Murder Case for impropriety. He was a tyrant on the bench who harassed Blacks, women, community activists, other minorities and his own judicial colleagues. He put former Cleveland NAACP Executive Director Stanley Miller as a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury Foreman to push grand jury indictments of felony criminal charges against Blacks for the state of Ohio that other grand juries would not indict).

The Cuyahoga County Democratic Party decided not to endorse any of the five candidates for county prosecutor including Subodh Chandra, whom a cadre of community activists have endorsed.

Regardless, community activists say that the worst and most dangerous candidate to the Black community and others is Tim McGinty.

LONDON, England-Cleveland Glenville High School Graduate Terrell Gausha (pictured) lost a one-point decision in the second round at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games on Thursday to Indian matinee idol Vijender, whom sports pundits predicted the winner .

A middleweight division fighter, Gausha, 24, was among the 16 amateur boxers out of the original 32 to advance to the quarter finals.

A former Golden Gloves champion who began boxing at the age of 10, Gausha, who is Black, won the first round of the boxing competition by knocking out Armenia's Andranik Hakobvan in the third round.

He is a product of the Cleveland Municipal School District, the city of Cleveland's predominantly Black school system.

CLEVELAND, Ohio-Ohio Communities United and the Greater Cleveland African American Chamber of Commerce are announcing the first mayoral debate for Cleveland Mayor. The debate will be at the Cleveland City Club on Monday, August 19 and is scheduled to begin at 11 am. The moderator will be Ronnie Duncan, a former Cleveland sportscaster.  Democratic Candidate for Cleveland Mayor, Ken Lanci has accepted the invitation and looks forward to attending, organizers said.Tickets for this City Club event are $20 and can be reserved by calling the City Club at 216.621.0082.
